James (Jay) Lindsey earned bachelor's degrees in biological sciences and mechanical engineering as well as a master's degree in bioengineering from Clemson University. Sharing the passion of his late mentor and friend, Dr. Shalaby W. Shalaby, he has devoted much of his professional career to advancements in the field of bioabsorbable polymers and medical devices. Currently, James works as a Sr. Research Engineer/Global Technical Lead for the Absorv™ family of bioabsorbable products at Zeus, Inc. He holds 10 patents in the field of bioabsorbable polymers and their applications. He continues to lead efforts in partnering with leading medical device companies, start-ups, as well as with researchers from universities from across the globe. James' contributions have led to multiple breakthrough technologies in various disciplines; including interventional cardiology, endovascular surgery, radiation oncology, ENT, and cosmetic surgery. James enjoys working for a company dedicated to helping engineers and researchers develop next-generation devices to solve real-world problems, which ultimately leads to improving the quality of countless patients' lives around the world.
