About
Dr. John (Jack) Ricci is an Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular Pathobiology, Division of Biomaterials, at NYU College of Dentistry. He is the Director of the Masters Program in Biomaterials Science at NYUCD. He is a long-term member of the SFB, and is a Fellow of Biomaterials Science and Engineering (FBSE). He has developed in vitro and in vivo experimental models for the controlled investigation of bone and soft tissue response to biomaterials, and is actively investigating and developing technologies for enhancing tissue repair and regeneration, including 3-dimensional printing technologies, and advanced surface modification techniques to enhance tissue integration of implants. Dr. Ricci has published extensively and has presented many invited lectures in the bioengineering, dental, orthopedics, and general medical device and biomaterials fields. He has been a consultant on many corporate research and product development projects, was a founding member of Orthogen, LLC, and is currently a consultant for BioHorizons Inc., a global dental technology company that currently uses technology developed at NYU on their dental implants. Dr. Ricci has extensive experience in intellectual property development, corporate product development, FDA regulation, and translation of bench top research to clinical use.
