Dr. Lakshmi S. Nair is an Associate professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery as well as the Associate director of Connecticut Convergence Institute at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Dr. Nair’s research focuses on injectable and biomimetic biomaterials and identifying bioactive molecules to accelerate tissue regeneration and for treating musculoskeletal pain. She has more than 135 peer-reviewed publications, more than 25 book chapters and edited several books in the area of Biomaterials and regenerative engineering. She currently serves as the managing editor a peer review journal published by Springer Nature “Regenerative Engineering and Translational medicine”. She is an elected fellow of the “National Academy of Inventors” (NAI), “American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering” (AIMBE) and Biomaterials, Artificial Organs, India.
