About

Scott Steele, PhD is the Director of the Digital Health and Regulatory Science Programs in the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) and an associate professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Rochester. He develops and leads regulatory science and translational science research and educational programs, including directing the Regulatory Science Certificate Program. Dr. Steele also facilitates research partnerships between the University and government agencies and laboratories, and other academic institutions. As the lead of the CTSI Digital Health and Regulatory Science Core, he oversees programs that help advance the development, approval, and adoption of innovative digital health tools and methods. His research interests focus on the intersection of emerging technology, policy, translational science, regulatory science and national security. Prior to joining the University of Rochester, he served in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. He previously served on the FDA Science Board and is currently on an assignment in the Office of Medical Policy, Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, FDA.
